If the murderer you’re hunting is a vampire, then you want a vampire detective. Just maybe not Jack Valentine.

From their base at Solomon College, Oxford, the Seekers are tasked with keeping the existence of vampires – or the Silver, as they call themselves – secret from humanity. Mostly they hunt Silver who’ve got carried away while blood-drinking and killed a human by accident, but occasionally they encounter the most dangerous kind of predator: a Silver serial killer.

The Dealer is one such Silver. He’s supposed to have been dead for fifteen years, but Jack Valentine – the Seekers’ youngest member – was never convinced they had the right guy. Now there’s a new body bearing all the hallmarks of his signature, but some poor newbie Silver is taking the blame, and Jack isn’t having that. Applying her characteristic bull-in-a-china-shop brand of diplomacy, she and her team are going to raise the dead, one body at a time.

Jack Valentine is the lead character in indie author Josie Jaffrey’s Seekers series, a series of vampire detective urban fantasy novels. The Jack Valentine podcast is a prequel to that series.
